Cove Catering Services is looking for a professional experienced chef to operate our Townsville facility. This role requires a hands on chef who has excellent customer service, as well as a successful track record of meeting budgets and costs on a weekly basis. The chef is required to provide a variety of meals, breakfast, lunch and dinner for recruits that are healthy, tasty suitable to accommodate the daily working environment of police recruits.
With attention to detail, the chef must be skilled to present all menu items to a high professional standard. The recruits require an extensive range of menu variations from diverse culinary cuisines on a 6 weekly rotational basis. Dietary options are required on a daily basis.

Police Check
Manual Driving licence
You must have the following skills:
•Proven track record at least five years experience to manage a busy kitchen.
•Experience in management and the ability to direct and supervise staff.
.Weekly Calculations Monitor budgets regarding, food costs and wages, target sales
•Develop and maintain client/customer relations
•Creative flair, leadership ability and experience in developing and costing creative daily menus and catering for functions that focus on quality, consistency and that wow factor.
•Food Production for large catering functions. E.g. canapés, buffets and a la carte.
•Proven track record of successful compliance of Food safety programs and HACCP procedures.
•Highly developed computer skills, including word, excel, outlook, skype and other software programs as required.
•Daily Supplier Ordering
•Accurate data entry for excel sheet budgets and costings
•Cash and Eftpos handling, experience with tills and floats.
•Record keeping skills to maintain all paperwork required for food compliance as well as other records such as invoices.
•Previous experience in costing out menus, rostering, stock takes and maintaining food and wage costs within a specified budget.
•Workplace Safety - Duty of care of staff –Workcover OHS
•Willingness to learn how to make coffees - to a Barista standard. (training provided)
